1. General Overview
Manuskrito is a centralized platform that allows users to:
Search for and locate information about academic manuscripts such as theses, dissertations, special projects, and capstones.
Submit academic manuscripts as an author, institution, or anonymous contributor.
Control access to their submissions by selecting different sharing and monetization options.
2. Search Functionality
Manuskrito stores and displays search results for where users can request or borrow a copy of academic manuscripts. The information presented in search results may include details like author, title, institution, and year of publication. However, some information may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. Manuskrito does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of this information.
3. Submissions
You may submit manuscripts to Manuskrito under the following categories:
Author Submission: Registered users submit manuscripts with full details and digital files or links.
Institutional Submission: Verified institutions can submit manuscripts on behalf of their members.
Community (or anonymous) Submission (Metadata Submission): Users may submit only metadata (such as titles, author names, and year) without linking the actual manuscript.
By submitting, you agree that:
You have the right to upload or share the content.
The content follows ethical guidelines, including proper citation and absence of plagiarism.
4. Submission Access Types
As a submitting author, you can select the following access options:
Open Access: Your manuscript will be available to all users for free.
Royalty-Based Access: Users must pay a royalty fee to access your manuscript. You will earn royalties based on the number of paid accesses.
Reserved (Hidden) Access: Your manuscript remains inaccessible to the public until you decide to change the access setting to either Open or Royalty-Based Access.
Note: Some features may be restricted based on user types.
5. Removal and Retention of Data
Users, including authors and institutions, have the right to request the removal of their manuscript or data from the platform. However, Manuskrito retains the right to store factual information such as the manuscript title, author name, and institution even after removal to ensure proper record keeping and search result functionality.
6. Account Management and Data Collection
When creating or managing an account, users are required to provide personal information such as name, email address, and institution (if applicable). Manuskrito collects and processes this information in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which governs data security and user privacy.
7. Accuracy and Completeness of Information
While Manuskrito strives to ensure that all submissions and search results are accurate and complete, the platform cannot guarantee the accuracy, truthfulness, or completeness of the information submitted by users, authors, or institutions. Users are encouraged to verify the information independently before relying on it.
8. Peer Review, Writing Validation, and Ethical Standards
Manuskrito reserves the right to conduct an in-house writing validation process on all submitted manuscripts. This process includes checks for plagiarism, citation accuracy, and content originality to ensure adherence to ethical academic standards. Authors may also opt for an additional peer-review process to further refine their submissions.
9. Analytics and Reporting
Manuskrito may offer analytics features for authors and institutions to track the performance of their manuscripts, including view counts, search queries, and interest scores. These analytics are available in your account dashboard. This feature may be restricted to users and/or could be limited to selected users only. Manuskrito reserves the right to grant/suspend users with this feature based on its discretion.
10. New Features and Announcements
Manuskrito may introduce new features from time to time. Any changes, including but not limited to new submission options, additional peer review, and institutional archiving, will be announced via email or through notifications on the platform. Users are encourage to get updated with these new features to take full advantage of the Manuskrito platform.
11. Marketing and Visibility
Manuskrito encourages authors, researchers, students, and institutions to get their work discovered on the platform. Submission types include:
Author submission (Registered Account)
Easy submission (No Account Required)
Institutional submission (Verified Institutions)
Community submission (No Account Required, Metadata Only)
Authors can also choose between Open-Access, Royalty-Based, and Reserved options, as detailed above.
12. Limitation of Liability
Manuskrito shall not be held liable for any inaccuracies, errors, or omissions in the information provided on the platform. Users are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and legality of their submissions. Manuskrito disclaims any liability arising from misuse, incomplete information, or loss of data.
13. Termination and Changes to the Terms
Manuskrito reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Users will be notified of any significant changes through email or platform notifications. Continued use of the platform after such changes implies acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Manuskrito operates.
