Manuskrito is an open-search platform dedicated to centralizing and preserving Philippine academic research, from undergraduate theses to doctoral dissertations. By making these works more visible and searchable, Manuskrito aims to bridge the gap between research creation and real-world impact, helping scholars, students, and innovators connect with knowledge that can inspire solutions.

Opening Doors for Collaboration:

Manuskrito is opening its doors for a collaborative study to explore the state of academic research in the Philippines using analytics, data, and actionable insights. The focus will be on three key areas:

  1. Visibility & Searchability – How discoverable are Philippine academic works in the digital space?

  2. Innovation Integration – How often do academic outputs connect with industry, policy, or real-world applications?

  3. Institutional Distribution – How are open-search manuscripts spread across universities and research institutions?

Our goal: Produce and publish a joint article that will be shared openly to inform policymakers, institutions, and the research community.

Requirements for Participation:

  1. Background in research, data analysis, library science, or related fields (students and early-career researchers are welcome).

  2. Interest in open access, academic visibility, or research policy.

  3. Willingness to contribute time and skills toward data gathering, interpretation, and writing.

  4. Comfortable collaborating through digital platforms (Google Docs, shared datasets, virtual meetings).

How It Works:

  1. Free to join – No fees or payments required to participate.

  2. Non-government funded – This collaboration is independent and not affiliated with any government funding or agency.

  3. Collaboration type – Participation is considered an intellectual collaboration, not an employment or contractual engagement.

  4. Rights & integrity – We uphold intellectual property rights, privacy and non-disclosure, and the highest standards of academic and research integrity.

  5. Project duration – The study will run for 3 months.

  6. Level of involvement – Members will be engaged in all stages of the study, from data gathering to analysis.

  7. Meetings – Open to virtual conferencing twice a week or as needed.

  8. Authorship – All contributors must agree to the authorship guidelines, ensuring fair and transparent credit.
