Manuskrito: A national academic resource
In the digital age, access to academic knowledge plays a central role in shaping research, policy, education, and innovation. While many countries have long benefited from centralized academic repositories, the Philippines has faced limitations in unifying its scholarly and research output in a single, accessible platform. Manuskrito seeks to address this gap by providing a digital infrastructure designed to organize, search, and analyze academic work and innovation data produced across the country.

Manuskrito is an open-search platform dedicated to curating Filipino research and development materials. It consolidates a wide range of academic outputs, including undergraduate theses, master’s research, doctoral dissertations and innovation records—across disciplines and institutions. With over 112,000 academic works and 30,000 innovation entries, Manuskrito currently represents one of the most comprehensive academic knowledge databases in the country.
At its core, the platform is designed to make research more discoverable and usable. Many academic manuscripts in the Philippines remain institution-bound, available only through local libraries or departmental archives. Manuskrito provides a system where these documents can be indexed and searched through a single, web-based access point. By enabling open and structured access to these materials, the platform helps reduce redundancy in research efforts and supports evidence-based development across sectors.
Beyond access, Manuskrito introduces tools for automated analysis, innovation metrics and trend tracking, equipping researchers, students and institutions with information that can aid in identifying gaps, forming collaborations and advancing inquiry. It is not simply a platform to search, but an active system for research engagement.
As the platform evolves, it also aims to serve as a bridge between academic communities—bringing visibility to the work of Filipino scholars and facilitating collaboration within and beyond the national academic network.

In a landscape where research is increasingly collaborative and data-driven, Manuskrito positions itself as a foundational academic utility: one built for Filipino researchers, by Filipino researchers, to strengthen the country’s research capacity and intellectual continuity.
